From case cover:<br/>A inicios de la década de 1950, todavía recientes los estragos de una guerra fraticida, la familia Pérez, consumida por la miseria, deja el pueblo y se traslada a Madrid con la esperanza de mejorar sus condiciones de vida. Manuel, su mujer y sus tres hijos van a vivir en unas habitaciones que han realquilado a unos parientes, Engracia y su hija Pili. Nada más instalarse empieza su laboriosa y difícil búsqueda de trabajo.<br/><br/>Para conseguir un dinero rápido, mientras espera que le llamen de la oficina de Empleo, Manuel vende tabaco de estraperlo y es descubierto por la policía. Pepe, el hijo mayor entra a trabajar para don Roque en su fraudulento negocio de transportes. Manolo, el segundo, encuentra trabajo como chico de los recados. Y Tonia, que aspira a ser cantante, es humillada por unos sicarios de don Roque que desea frustrar su carrera musical para así convertirla en su amante.<br/><br/> |
