Con El diputado, realizada un años después, quiso denunciar la postura fariseísta de la izquierda ante esta tema y al mismo tiempo ofreció una de las escenas antológicas del despropósito sexual: el menage á trois entre José Sacristán, José Luis Alonso y la absolutamenta ajena María Luisa San José que sirvió para que el film fuese clasificado "S" en España y un éxito en Latinoamericán. Durante el régimen franquista Roberto Orbea hasido un militante comunista clandestino. Muerto el dictador Roberto es elegido diputado y se perfila como el más firma candidato a convertirse en el nuevo secretario general del partido. El diputado Orbea, sin embargo, no ha abandonado totalmente la clandestinidad ya que mentiene una doble vida sexual que no cree oportuno publicitar.
