From Wikipedia:
This documentary is a survey conducted by Claude Ventura and Xavier Villetard on the shooting conditions of Jean-Luc Godard's film À bout de souffle .
In parallel, the authors evoke this inventive and invigorating cinematographic movement that was the New Wave .
Xavier Villetard filmed by Claude Ventura, went into the room 12 in Hôtel de Suède where Godard filmed including along head-to-head between Jean-Paul Belmondo and Jean Seberg .
We see him briefly calling Godard twice on the phone, but he refuses to tell him anything about the filming of his film.
Villetard continues his investigations by interviewing some of those who took part in shooting Out of Breath , among others: actors Jean-Paul Belmondo , Roger Hanin and Liliane David , director Claude Chabrol , director of photography Raoul Coutard . We discover that the shooting rate was very irregular: Godard could turn only a few hours some days and for more than eight hours other days. He wrote his script daily, in the morning at breakfast.
We learn that François Truffaut and Claude Chabrol , already recognized as directors by the profession at the end of the 1950s , mainly gave their bond to Breathless , the first credited as author of the original story and the second as technical advisor , to attract and reassure producers who might have been reluctant to finance the first feature film of a young beginner.
