From case cover:
Johan is a hard-working father and husband of a family in a Mennonite community in Northern Mexico. Against the law of God and man he falls in love with another woman, and although he is honest with his wife about the affair, his actions create conflict in their otherwise serene and tranquil existence.
This poetic film has been nominated for the independent Spirit Award's Best Foreign Feature and was selected as Mexico's official Academy Award Entry, as well as being placed on numerous Top 10 lists, including Time Out NY and The New York Times. The New York Times says, "rarely has a film depicted religious experience with such power and clarity...to miss this film would be a sin."
From IMDb:

His father (Peter Wall), best friend (Jacobo Klassen) and wife (Miriam Toews) know the truth, but Johan's suffering has to do with his faith, which he can't reconcile with his deeds.
