Tire Dié, realizada por Fernando Birri en 1956-58, es posiblemente -junto a lo hora de los hornos, de Fernando Solanas-, el film documental mas importante del cine argentino.
Dentro de la temática del llamado "cine-verdad", la obra de Birri trasciende por la desnudez de sus imágenes. La cámara se transforma en un testigo mudo de la realidad sin ningún artilugio escénio, dando paso, en su pasividad, a la verdadera violencia de lo cotidiano.
