En la década de los años 30, el Salón México era el lugar favorito para bailar el danzón. Cierta noche, ocurre un doble asesinato Mercedes (Maria Rojo) y su amante Paco (Alberto Estrella) son encontrados sin vida. El inspector Castellón (Demian Bichir) interroga a los conocidos de la pareja para descubrir lo que ocurrió en esa trágica noche que afectó de una manera u otra, a todas las personas que estuvieron cerca de Paco y Mercedes.

In this remake of the 40's classic, two lovers murder each other, leading to an investigation and the closing of the Saln Mxico, a famous place where people used to go to dance before WWII. The police investigation leads to several flashbacks about the life and death of a low-life dancer named Mercedes (Maria Rojo) and her lover.
