Gertrudis refuses everything she can to appear in the photos and hides herself while Leon and his children pose happily. In this context the poses of Leon and his children become for the photographer something absurd, obsolete, and his look seeks to discover something different and finds it in Gertrudis that, with its opacity and silence is much more interesting. He will be the only one who discovers, with another "look", the particular beauty of the protagonist and his intense internal world and in doing so will in turn influence the protagonist.
