520 _aFrom case cover: Kalliste, a film about the island of Corsica, is a cultural documentary produced from the perspective of students, specifically for their peers. Two students chose to travel to Corsica, participate in a local eight-week internship, and create this film to document Corsican culture. Because of this unique condition, Kalliste shows a side of Corsican lifestyles and political views rarely seen in documentaries produced for the classroom. Many entities, such as The Center fro the Study of Languages, The Language Resource Center, and Rice University's Department of Visual and Dramatic Arts contributed to the production, as well as their faculty, staff and student assistants.
